Exercice :
Soient \( E \ et \ F \) deux ensembles et \( f: E \rightarrow F \) une application.
1) Montrer que : \( \forall A \in \mathcal{P}(E), \ A \subset f^{-1}(f(A)) \)
2) Montrer que : \( f \text{ est injective } \Leftrightarrow \forall A \in \mathcal{P}(E), A=f^{-1}(f(A)) \)
Corrigé :
1) Soit \(A\in\mathcal{P}(E)\).
Soit \(x\in E\).\[\begin{aligned}x\in A &\Rightarrow f(x)\in f(A)\\&\Rightarrow x\in f^{-1}(f(A)).\end{aligned}\]
Donc \(A\subset f^{-1}(f(A))\).
2) Montrons l'implication directe :
On suppose que \(f\) est injective.
Soit \(A\in\mathcal{P}(E)\).
Soit \(x\in E\).\[\begin{aligned}x\in f^{-1}(f(A))&\Rightarrow f(x)\in f(A)\\&\Rightarrow \exists a\in A,\quad f(x)=f(a)\\&\Rightarrow x=a\in A\quad\text{(car \(f\) est injective).}\end{aligned}\]
Donc \(f^{-1}(f(A))\subset A\).
Nous avons montré dans la question 1 que \(A\subset f^{-1}(f(A))\).
Par conséquent, \(A=f^{-1}(f(A))\).
Montrons l'implication réciproque :
On suppose que\[\forall A\in\mathcal{P}(E),\quad A=f^{-1}(f(A)).\]
Soient \(x,x'\in E\).
On suppose que \(f(x)=f(x')\).\[\begin{aligned}\{x\}&=f^{-1}(f(\{x\}))\\&=f^{-1}(\{f(x)\})\\&=f^{-1}(\{f(x')\})\\&=f^{-1}(f(\{x'\}))\\&=\{x'\}.\end{aligned}\]Donc \(x=x'\).
On vient de prouver que\[\forall x,x'\in E,\quad f(x)=f(x')\Rightarrow x=x'.\]
L'application \(f\) est donc injective.
