Étude des propriétés de l’application de conjugaison \(\Phi_f : g \mapsto f \circ g \circ f^{-1}\)

Exercice :

Soient \(E\) un ensemble et \(f : E \to E\) une application bijective.
On considère l'application \(\phi_f : E^E \to E^E\) définie par :\[\forall g \in E^E,\quad \phi_f(g)=f\circ g\circ f^{-1}.\]
1) Montrer que \(\phi_f\) est bijective.
2) Pour toutes applications \(g,h \in E^E\), simplifier \(\phi_f(g)\circ\phi_f(h)\).
3) Soit \(g \in E^E\) une application bijective. Simplifier \(\phi_f\circ\phi_g\).
4) Soit \(g \in E^E\) une application bijective. Montrer que \(\phi_f(g)\) est bijective et déterminer sa bijection réciproque.

Corrigé :

1) Soit \(h \in \mathcal{F}(E,E)\).
On a :\[\begin{aligned}\Phi_f(g)=h&\Leftrightarrow f \circ g \circ f^{-1}=h\\&\Leftrightarrow f^{-1}\circ(f\circ g\circ f^{-1})\circ f=f^{-1}\circ h\circ f\\&\Leftrightarrow (f^{-1}\circ f)\circ g\circ(f^{-1}\circ f)=f^{-1}\circ h\circ f\\&\Leftrightarrow \operatorname{id}_E\circ g\circ\operatorname{id}_E=f^{-1}\circ h\circ f\\&\Leftrightarrow g=f^{-1}\circ h\circ f.\end{aligned}\]
On vient de montrer que :\[\forall h\in\mathcal{F}(E,E),\quad\exists !\,g\in\mathcal{F}(E,E),\quad \Phi_f(g)=h.\]
Donc l'application \(\Phi_f\) est bijective.
2) Soient \(g,h\in\mathcal{F}(E,E)\).
On a :\[\begin{aligned}\Phi_f(g)\circ\Phi_f(h)&=(f\circ g\circ f^{-1})\circ(f\circ h\circ f^{-1})\\&=f\circ g\circ(f^{-1}\circ f)\circ h\circ f^{-1}\\&=f\circ g\circ\operatorname{id}_E\circ h\circ f^{-1}\\&=f\circ g\circ h\circ f^{-1}\\&=\Phi_f(g\circ h).\end{aligned}\]
3) Soit \(g\in\mathcal{F}(E,E)\) une application bijective.
Soit \(h\in\mathcal{F}(E,E)\).
On a :\[\begin{aligned}(\Phi_f\circ\Phi_g)(h)&=\Phi_f(\Phi_g(h))\\&=f\circ\Phi_g(h)\circ f^{-1}\\&=f\circ(g\circ h\circ g^{-1})\circ f^{-1}\\&=(f\circ g)\circ h\circ(g^{-1}\circ f^{-1})\\&=(f\circ g)\circ h\circ(f\circ g)^{-1}\\&=\Phi_{f\circ g}(h).\end{aligned}\]
On vient de montrer que :\[\forall h\in\mathcal{F}(E,E),\quad(\Phi_f\circ\Phi_g)(h)=\Phi_{f\circ g}(h).\]Donc\[\Phi_f\circ\Phi_g=\Phi_{f\circ g}.\]
4) Soit \(g\in\mathcal{F}(E,E)\) une application bijective.
On a \(\Phi_f(g)=f\circ g\circ f^{-1}\).
Les applications \(f\), \(g\) et \(f^{-1}\) sont bijectives.
Puisque la composée d'applications bijectives est bijective, l'application \(\Phi_f(g)\) est bijective.
Déterminons la bijection réciproque de \(\Phi_f(g)\).
On a :\[\begin{aligned}(\Phi_f(g))^{-1}&=(f\circ g\circ f^{-1})^{-1}\\&=((f\circ g)\circ f^{-1})^{-1}\\&=(f^{-1})^{-1}\circ(f\circ g)^{-1}\\&=f\circ(g^{-1}\circ f^{-1})\\&=f\circ g^{-1}\circ f^{-1}\\&=\Phi_f(g^{-1}).\end{aligned}\]
